How To Install Ceph

If you stopped an install of Ceph midway you will need to manually restart it with "pveceph install"

Remember that your VM needs to have working internet (gateway) and DNS in order to connect to the apt repo to download all of the packages that Ceph requires.

Remember to repeat these steps for each node that you want Ceph on.

Let's Create an OSD on a Spare Disk (/dev/sdb on our case) and then Create a Ceph Pool that we can install our VMs on

Now let's install a VM on the Ceph Pool we created

Click on "Create VM".

How to Balance Load/Disk Usage Across OSDs:

Without the balancer, some OSDs may be overused while some underused, many configurations could have better redundancy and more effiicent usage with the balancer.
